Rona’s Favourite Facebook Pages and Groups
Bookouture
Not only does this page have up-to-date information on signings, cover reveals and new publications, they also run weekly author panels on a Monday night at 7pm. You can join in and ask questions, or just sit back and listen. The panels switch between genres, with three authors being interviewed each time by the fabulous Kim Nash.
I find it fascinating and I’m sure any book lover would too! It’s also lots of fun ☺
The Fiction Café Book Club
This is a multi-faceted book club that is amazingly well organised and run, with no bad behaviour tolerated. It’s a mixture of authors and readers and there’s lots of reviews, as well as some fun games and discussions to get involved with. They have pages for authors to help promote their books, as well as a review group and they even have a support group, for those having a hard time.
It’s a really safe and lovely place to interact with fellow book lovers. They have an author of the week who posts about their books and themselves each day in the run up to an Author Live interview on Sunday night at 8pm. Anyone can post a question and then there’s interactive chat as the event goes on.
Book on the Positive Side
As the name suggests – no negativity here! Another lovely place to hang out with fellow book lovers and talk all things books. Lots of authors in here too. A very friendly and informal group.
The Motherload Book Club
This is a place for mums to chat books, not only for themselves but for their kids too, and is just the loveliest place to be. Loads of great reviews and book news. They are really hot on posting about books on promotion, so you get to hear about all the deals. Be warned though… this group will definitely increase your TBR pile!
Book Mark
This group is run by Mark Fearn who is a voracious reader! He posts fantastic reviews, which are always well considered and fair and I love to read his thoughts on each book he’s finished.
We have a similar taste in books, so it’s mainly thrillers and crime. Another site that will boost your TBR pile, but I’ve read some real gems after Mark’s recommendations that I might not have tried otherwise.
Women Writers, Women’s Books
This is the Facebook group for www.booksbywomen.org, an online magazine for women writers, by women writers. It’s a very supportive group where there’s lots of discussions on writing. They also have some great articles written by authors covering a wide range of topics.
